Modern Languages - French
Benvenue à MFL!
At Danson we believe that learning a foreign language provides a valuable educational, social and cultural experience for our children. It helps to foster good communication skills including key skills for speaking and listening and knowledge of how language works. The natural links between language and other areas of the curriculum can be exploited to enhance the overall learning experience. As in any other area of the curriculum we always encourage a ‘have a go’ attitude.
Teaching and Learning
At Danson we aim to embed language learning into everyday life, with everyone using and experimenting with different languages whenever the opportunity arises.
Language learning is a part of the day to day life of the school. For example adults use the foreign language to give simple instructions, to take the register etc. and children are encouraged to respond using the language they have learned. Sometimes children and adults develop new language skills together, adults acting as role models in the learning process.
From September 2017 all children in KS2 have been taught specific skills, concepts and vocabulary in a dedicated weekly lessons.
