Attendance

Danson Primary School is passionate about ensuring pupils receive the very best educational and pastoral experience during their time with us. This means doing everything we possibly can to ensure that attendance is high because our children are resilient learners who enjoy coming to school every day.

We share our daily school attendance registers across the education sector and are very proud of all that we do to support our families in getting to school every day and on time.

Recent government reforms have focused on improving school attendance nationally following the pandemic which has seen a worldwide rise in absence and persistent absence ins schools driven by broken habits of attendance.

The Department for Education has appointed a new national attendance ambassador who will carefully monitor school attendance and work with schools and school leaders to champion attendance, share effective practice and support its ongoing development.

We continue to Champion exceptional attendance which we know equals exceptional educational progress. We celebrate this on a termly basis using the school support dog Achilles as our Attendance Ambassador as well as rewards and celebrations across each year group.
