We follow Bexley Council's procedures for attendance and lateness.

We expect all children to have a minimum attendance of 96% by the end of the year.  Please telephone (020 8303 1858) or email (office@danson.bexley.sch.uk) the School Office on the first day of absence.

If the illness is contagious, the School must be notified immediately. We work closely with the Educational Welfare Officer, checking the registers regularly and monitoring all absences. Persistent absenteeism or lateness could result in parents being invited into Attendance Surgery or Fast Track meetings to discuss the importance of attending school regularly.

Bexley Council’s policy ‘Every day counts’ explains that only in very special circumstances will permission for an absence be authorised.
